You could be our next Executive Director!

Literacy Services of Wisconsin is looking for a new Executive Director. The cornerstone of our agency, this position requires a passion for adult education and the fund-raising, management and public-relations skills of a natural leader. LSW's Search Committee has released the full profile description of our open leadership position. Follow this link, ED Profile, to review all the attributes we are looking for in our new Executive Director. Interests applicants must apply by November 4th, by contacting Leading Transitions at LSW9@leadingtransitions.com. Requirements for submission are included in the Executive Director Profile. Do you have the drive to advocate for adult education and guide our team of staff, volunteers and students? Perhaps you know someone who does. Please forward this on to all parties that may be interested in taking on this important role.

THE BOOK SALE IS COMING!

Last year, our book sale fundraiser brought in over $11,000 for our organization and we are striving to make the event bigger and more lucrative than ever. To do it, we are asking for your help with one of our biggest challenges: Getting more books!

DONATE BOOKS OR HOST A DRIVE

From now until September 20th, we are hoping to bring in thousands of books. If you haven't already, consider donating books from your own library in the collection box at our entrance. Ask your friends and family if they have hardcovers and paperbacks they can spare. Our collection is not limited to books. We accept movies, music and audio-books on VHS, tape, CD and DVD too. However, we can not accept magazines, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books or textbooks.
If you are really ambitious, email dustin@literacyservices.org for information on hosting a book drive. Community areas of condos, apartment buildings, workplaces, churches and clubs are great places for our collection boxes. If you can get us in the door, we will deliver collection boxes and pick-up books.

THE GRAND BOOK SALE

The Grand Avenue Mall will be hosting this year's sale from September 26th to October 3rd. After all the collecting is done, we welcome you come to visit us. The sale will take place above T.J. Maxx in a huge space that was once home to Old Navy. There are great deals to be had and plenty of volunteering opportunities too. Specific details about the event can be found here: http://www.literacyservices.org/events/booksale.html. We look forward to seeing you there!
